BADER+SIMON ENCOURAGES ARTISTS TO APPLY FOR INAUGURAL EMPOWERMENT GRANT BY MARCH 15

National Arts Organization Paves the Way for Social Justice in the

Art Community Through Innovative Grant Program

 

CINCINNATI, OH – February 20, 2024 – Bader+Simon, a national arts organization dedicated to spotlighting underrepresented artists and championing compelling expressions of art, is accepting applications for its first ever Empowerment Grant through March 15. This groundbreaking initiative provides a platform for voices often marginalized in the art community. Annually, a recipient will be selected to participate in a show at the conclusion of the grant period, contributing to the organization's commitment to underrepresented voices and themes.

To apply for the Bader+Simon Grant by March 15, individual artists should submit: 

  • Short bio or resume

  • Explanation of how they learned about the Bader + Simon Empowerment Grant

  • Artist statement (written or video format, 250-500 words or 3-5 minute video)

  • Statement of intent (500 words max) about the project, development process, and the grant's impact

  • A minimum of 5 images of work samples or a 2-4 minute video

  • Names and contact information of 3 references (one reference providing a written or video recommendation)

  • Budget & timeline for fund utilization

A virtual informational session is scheduled for February 26, 2024, at 8 pm EST, offering guidance and insights for prospective applicants. This session is designed to address questions, provide assistance, and ensure that artists have the tools they need to submit a compelling application.

The $7,500 grant will be awarded on April 20, 2024, with funding commencing on May 1, 2024. Artists are encouraged to apply by March 15.
