Escaping the Results of Other People’s Thinking

As Stay-At-Home Orders are easing up and typical routines are slowly returning, a question that you may want to ask yourself is, “Which parts of my routine do I want to return to and which do I want to change?” We create lives that are so jam packed with activities and responsibilities, sometimes we don’t even take the time to make sure we’re living lives that actually please us.
Quarantine gave us all some unexpected time to take a step back and see our lives from a bird’s-eye view. What are your takeaways? Are there things you’re doing simply because other people think you should be doing them? Do you feel controlled by other people’s values? Are there passions that you want to make a larger part of your daily life? Are there areas of your life that you want to redirect?
COVID-19 has reminded us all that life isn’t quite as predictable as we once believed. At times we find solace in a false sense of security that things will never change, when in reality they could actually change in the blink of an eye.
