TASTE OF BELGIUM’S NEW MENU FEATURES BELGIAN CUISINE WITH A MODERN TWIST
Menu Offerings Designed to Showcase What the Bistro Does Best
CINCINNATI, OH – January 29, 2025 – Taste of Belgium has unveiled a new menu that highlights its traditional Belgian cuisine and Belgian-ized American classics, perfectly complemented by the bistro’s unmatched selection of imported beers.
A new streamlined menu for each day-part—breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner—features a carefully curated selection, as well as a la carte items. Taste of Belgium is also expanding its morning hours, opening at 7:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at its three Cincinnati bistros at The Banks, in Over-the-Rhine and Rookwood.
In addition to favorites such as Belgian Waffles, Mussels and Frites, Carbonnades Poutine, Belgian Meatballs, and Burgers, new dishes include the Cranberry Orange Waffle, Florentine Eggs Benedict, Nordic Eggs Benedict and Steak and Eggs with Chimichurri. Newly introduced variations of their ever-popular waffle and chicken—Nashville Hot Waffle & Chicken and Korean Waffle & Chicken—and a new Birria Waffle showcase the bistro’s commitment to reinventing classic comfort food with bold, contemporary flavors.
“We’re constantly seeking ways to elevate our menu and enhance the dining experience while staying true to our commitment to tradition and quality,” said Jean-François Flechet, Founder of Taste of Belgium. “This refined menu reflects our dedication to our valued patrons and allows us to focus on delivering what we do best—a modern take on traditional Belgian cuisine.”
“We also appreciate that dining habits and spending priorities have shifted, and we want to address those concerns without compromising quality. We’ve adjusted our pricing and unbundled entrees and side dishes, to deliver an exceptional dining experience along with the value our patrons expect at breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner,” Flechet continued.
Taste of Belgium’s waffle is a twist on a classic Liège waffle recipe, named after the city where founder Jean-François Flechet grew up (in Belgium). Made from a dough, rather than a batter, the waffle recipe relies on a special pearl sugar imported from Belgium. The Belgian pearl sugar caramelizes as it bakes, adding to the waffle’s unique taste and distinctive crunch.
The new menu is available in-bistro in Over-The-Rhine, Rookwood and The Banks, as well as through carryout, or delivery through their delivery partners.
Since its inception, Taste of Belgium has been committed to introducing Greater Cincinnatians to the rich flavors of Belgian cuisine, exceptional service and customer satisfaction. They are also dedicated to using locally-sourced ingredients and building relationships with local food purveyors who provide the fresh ingredients that define every dish.

Our journey began in 2007 at Cincinnati’s historic Findlay Market, where Jean-François introduced a traditional Liège-style waffle recipe and a 120-pound cast-iron waffle maker from Belgium.
