Classic Comfort Food Meets Modern Cuisine with the Introduction of

Nashville Hot and Korean Waffle & Chicken

CINCINNATI, OH – December 16, 2024 Taste of Belgium has introduced two new bold variations of its iconic Waffle & Chicken entrée. These new dishes, Nashville Hot Waffle & Chicken and Korean Waffle & Chicken, showcase the bistro’s commitment to reinventing classic comfort food with bold, contemporary flavors and are now available all day – breakfast, lunch, weekend brunch and dinner at all five Taste of Belgium bistros in Cincinnati and Dayton.

The Nashville Hot Waffle & Chicken features crispy breaded chicken tossed in a signature Nashville Hot seasoning - made with smoky paprika, cayenne and a touch of brown sugar – presented like a sandwich split between Taste of Belgium’s iconic Liège-style waffle, topped with pickles and paired with a tangy pickle kale slaw.

The Korean Waffle & Chicken starts with Taste of Belgium’s traditional waffle and is the perfect blend of sweet and savory. Featuring tender breaded chicken coated in a rich, gochujang-based Korean sauce, this dish is garnished with green onions and served with a cucumber, carrot and radish salad dressed in sesame oil and rice wine vinegar.

While these two new additions bring exciting flavors to the table, the beloved Classic Waffle & Chicken continues to be a menu favorite, featuring the signature Liège-style waffle paired with crispy buttermilk-marinated chicken and a blue cheese salad.

Taste of Belgium’s waffle is a twist on a classic Liège waffle recipe, named after the city where founder Jean-François Flechet grew up. The waffle is made from a dough, not a batter, and the recipe relies on a special pearl sugar imported from Belgium. The Belgian pearl sugar caramelizes as it bakes, adding to the waffle’s unique taste and distinctive crunch.

These new waffle entrees can be enjoyed in-bistro in Over-The-Rhine, Rookwood, The Banks and in Dayton at The Greene and Austin Landing, as well as through carryout, or delivery through their delivery partners.
