AVIATRA ACCELERATORS ANNUAL MEETING REPORTED 2021 FEMALE ENTREPRENURIAL SUCCESS AND REGIONAL IMPACT

Ohio Lieutenant Governor Jon Husted Reviewed Ohio’s Economic Development Progress

COVINGTON, KY –APRIL 5, 2022 - Aviatra Accelerators, a non-profit accelerator devoted to empowering women-owned startups and small businesses, held its Annual Meeting Thursday, March 31 at Covington’s Metropolitan Club, with special guest Ohio Lieutenant Governor Jon Husted. Governor Husted delivered an economic development update and spoke about the vital nature of entrepreneurs to our economy. 

            Aviatra CEO Nancy Aichholz and Trey Greyson, Outgoing Board Chair and Attorney at Frost Brown Todd, reported Aviatra’s overwhelming 2021 success despite the challenges of the pandemic, including:  

-       Creation of over 100 jobs in Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky

-       Over 500 hours of mentoring to women provided

-       Over 200 female entrepreneurs served through its programs

-       Secured over $ 315,000 in private and public funding

 “With nearly 12 years of data, we know that 80% of the women that come through our accelerator model stay in business for many years.  And we see significant growth revenue for those businesses,” noted Nancy Aichholz, President/CEO of Aviatra Accelerators.

Aclipse Camper Vans, one of Aviatra’s biggest success stories, was highlighted at the event.  Sofia Mimendi and Emily Bruns started the camper van business in 2019 and participated in Aviatra’s accelerator programming to grow their business, gain access to funding and mentoring.  Their business has grown exponentially throughout the pandemic due to a rise in interest around domestic road trip adventures.  Lt. Governor Husted remarked “It has never been a better time to start a small business in this part of the country.”

Aviatra’s EXPLORE®, is an early-stage ideation and business validation program; LAUNCH® is a traditional accelerator program for young businesses moving to the next level that need to secure funding, and GROW® is ongoing sustainability programming.
