KENTUCKY GIRL SCOUTS CALLS ON CORPORATE COMMUNITY TO BUY SURPLUS COOKIES BY APRIL 11
Essential Services Company Buys $10,000 in Girl Scout Cookies; Kentucky Girl Scouts Encourages Other Companies to Help Them Meet their Goal
ERLANGER, KY– April 5, 2020––Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road (GSKWR) continues to strengthen community ties by encouraging businesses and organizations to purchase their remaining inventory of 1,440 boxes of cookies. The Kentucky Girl Scout cookie season has been extended until Sunday, April 11 to meet the sales goal. Annual cookie sales fund GSKWR’s operating expenses and the cookie program creates entrepreneurial opportunities for Kentucky Girl Scouts.
In 2020, American Homeland Title Agency with offices in Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati, purchased $ 10,000 of cookies, using these cookies for real estate closing transactions. This year, American Homeland Title Agency has matched their $ 10,000 contribution to GSKWR for another 2,000 boxes of cookies. With their contribution, girls from GSKWR continue to build important life skills such as goal-setting, decision making, money management, social skills, and entrepreneurship.
Kentucky Girl Scouts depend heavily on cookie sales, as it represents the majority of their operating budget and provides girls with the opportunity to become entrepreneurs. Since pandemic restrictions and weather constraints have impacted the cookie sales, GSKWR urges businesses and corporations to strengthen their local community by purchasing the remaining cookie inventory. Companies and organizations can show support to their employees through purchasing boxes of cookies as a token of appreciation, support essential community workers, donate cookies to senior living facilities or food banks. Any companies or organizations who are interested in purchasing a large quantity of cookies before April 11, 2021, please contact Carolyn McNerney, Product Sales Director, GSKWR at 1-800-475-2621, option 2, ext. 1312 or cmcnerney@gswrc.org.
