‘PAINTED PETS’ ONLINE ART AUCTION NOW LIVE

20 Original Works of Art by Local Artists for Sale to the Highest Bidders; All Proceeds Benefit Pets In Need of Greater Cincinnati

CINCINNATI, OH – October 2, 2017 – The second annual ‘Painted Pets’ auction presented by Pets In Need of Greater Cincinnati features twenty one-of-a-kind works of art by local and regional artists. The online auction is now live and continues through Pets In Need’s annual fundraising event, Petcasso, on Saturday, November 18, 2017.

The Painted Pets are on display at various locations throughout Cincinnati including Indigenous, The Bonbonerie and English Traditions in O’Bryonville, as well as Cockerill, Eye 1, Poeme, Castle House, Miller Gallery, and Khakis in Hyde Park Square; for a complete list of locations go to http://pincincinnati.org/painted-pets/.

“We are extremely grateful to each Painted Pet artist for generously donating their time and extraordinary talents. Their beautiful and unique creations have far surpassed our expectations and we’re honored to partner with such talented and generous visionaries,” said Pets In Need Executive Director, Ann Hill.

A few of the Painted Pet artists include:
  • Frédéric Bonin-Pissarro, the great-grandson of one of the original Impressionists, Camille Pissarro. Born and raised in Paris, he eventually settled in Cincinnati where he taught at the Art Institute of Cincinnati and received the Key to the City in 2001.
  • Beth Ann Eline, a former high school art teacher of 18 years and Big Pig Gig artist.
  • Robin Hartmann, a costume designer known for her work on many Broadway shows of the 80’s, as well as Jim Henson’s Muppets, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock and Saturday Night Live. Robin also worked on some feature films locally such as The Shawshank Redemption and A Rage in Harlem.
  • Carol Sanger, a painter of pet portraits and co-founder of United Coalition for Animals (UCAN) and Westie Rescue Indiana.
  • Doug Paxton and Brad Rouse, local tattoo artists at Only Hope Tattoo
  • Shannon Timura, Director of Art Education at a performing arts school
