TASTE OF BELGIUM CELEBRATES OFFICIAL REOPENING OF CRESTVIEW HILLS BISTRO

Community Celebrates with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at

the Only Taste of Belgium in Northern Kentucky

CINCINNATI, OH – January 29, 2024 Taste of Belgium, the Cincinnati-based eatery renowned for its Belgian-inspired cuisine, officially reopened its Crestview Hills bistro located in Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky, on Friday, January 26 with a formal ribbon-cutting attended by Kentucky State Representative Rachel Roberts (D), District 67, Jean-François Flechet, the Founder of Taste of Belgium, and other state and local officials.

Originally opened in July 2020 amid the challenges of the pandemic, the 10,000 square foot bistro with a total seating capacity of 157 and an outdoor patio that seats 72 people, has undergone multiple renovations, reflecting a commitment to both aesthetic and operational excellence. The full bar, now Belgian-themed, boasts 36 beers on draft, offering the most curated beer selection in Northern Kentucky. The Taste of Belgium Crestview Hills bistro proudly maintains four Chimay beers on draft at all times.

As part of Taste of Belgium's longstanding tradition of collaboration with local artists, the Crestview Bistro commissioned a mural of the Grand Place, an iconic Belgian landmark. This mural is brought to life through projection mappings. Taste of Belgium partnered with Matt Grote, who has created murals for BLINK and ArtWorks, along with Chris Glenn of Backbeat Motion to create an immersive bistro experience.  “This was a very challenging space to renovate based on inherited aspects such as the sky-painted ceiling so we decided to embrace it to create a very unique space,” noted Jean-François Flechet, Founder of Taste of Belgium.  To fully bring the bistro experience to life, Taste of Belgium worked with Michelle Pinales, a renowned designer of hospitality and retail environments, whose work has been featured in Bon Appetit and Wine Spectator, among others.

The re-opening event marked a significant milestone for Taste of Belgium - Crestview Hills, offering the community a proper introduction to this culinary gem after navigating through the challenges of the pandemic.

Jean-François Flechet, expressing his enthusiasm, stated, "We are delighted to officially reopen Taste of Belgium in Crestview Hills and provide the Northern Kentucky community with an authentic Belgian culinary experience. This bistro holds a special place as the only Taste of Belgium in Northern Kentucky, and it's a great pleasure to finally give it the grand opening it deserves."

Renowned for its culinary innovation, Taste of Belgium recently reintroduced its original frites, now offered at all Taste of Belgium bistros, including Crestview Hills. Patrons can also taste the Belgian and Kentucky-themed, “Beltucky Hot Brown.” This delectable creation features roasted turkey, candied bacon, tomatoes, and Cheddar Mornay sauce atop a Belgian waffle.
